Trans-Global Products, Inc. Selects the CAI Cloud for Enhanced Data Security and Business Continuity

November 28, 2018 – Smithfield, RI – CAI Software LLC and Trans-Global Products, Inc. of Tampa, Florida has selected CAI’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IAAS) platform and is running their Seasoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and other critical systems in the CAI Cloud.

A long-time user of CAI’s Seasoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Trans-Global recognizes the importance of protecting the future of the seafood industry and world’s oceans, and is committed to the sustainable sourcing of seafood. The company strives to satisfy its customers’ demands for source-to-plate traceability and to be able to respond quickly to a food safety recall. Each year the company goes through several audits and conducts regular mock recalls to ensure that they can trace the origin of every ingredient back to a source.

Earlier this year suffered a loss of data due to a server issue. “The experience was not a pleasant one, and definitely not something we want to ever have to go through again,” said Irene Chen, owner of Trans-Global.

“Having the right data is essential to providing the level of traceability that we provide. For example, we need access to line inventories, traceability information, what came in, what went out and to whom it was delivered. Knowing that we can access this data with literally a few keystrokes on the computer helps us operate confidently and run the business efficiently.”

“We spoke with the team at CAI and they suggested we look at moving our in-house server, and all the critical data it housed, to the cloud,” Chen said.

CAI worked closely with Trans-Global to move the company’s main domain controller and mission-critical applications and data to the CAI cloud. CAI offers enhanced data security and business continuity and allows businesses like Trans-Global to offload the day-to-day management of their servers and physical IT infrastructure. CAI configured a secure, state-of-the-art virtual private cloud platform with a maintained uptime target of 99.99%. In addition, CAI’s Network Operating Center (NOC) monitors the company’s cloud servers 24 x 7 to ensure accessibility.

The entire project took just over four weeks to complete. “I am happy to say that the migration of our Seasoft ERP server and the transition since going live has been pretty seamless,” Chen said.
“We rely on CAI not only for their Seasoft software, which is integral to managing our company, but for our IT platform as well,” Chen said. “Their recommendation to transition our in-house servers and applications to the cloud, and the expertise they demonstrated during the process, has proven to be right for our company. From both a network uptime and data security perspective we couldn’t be more pleased with our decision to move to the cloud.”
